Cboe Says Bitcoin ETFs to Start Trading Thursday, Though the SEC Hasn’t Approved Them Yet

Cboe Global Markets stated 6 area bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded funds will be noted and begin trading on its stock market on Thursday.

The Ark 21 (ARKB), Fidelity (FBTC), Franklin Templeton (EZBC), Invesco (BTCO), VanEck (HODL) and WisdomTree (BTCW) bitcoin ETFs appeared on the exchange operator’s “New Listings” page on Wednesday.

The listing does not indicate that the ETFs will be authorized by SEC. The commission still requires to authorize the candidates’ 19b-4 and S1 filings.

“We are still waiting for SEC approval of our area bitcoin ETFs,” a Cboe representative stated. “The notifications published to our site are standard operating procedure in preparation of an ETF launch.”

The notification comes ahead of prospective main approval on Wednesday from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Approval of bitcoin ETFs would expand bitcoin access to more financiers, who would not need to go to a crypto exchange, possibly supplying a much easier method to purchase the world’s biggest digital property.
